ReplyDeletelaura i have taken your advice and started with a line from the show itself. thanks i think this has really helped draw the attention of the reader!
merry christmas everyone!
Hi Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteYour marketing piece has definitely improved since your first draft and it is clear you took on everyone's comments.I found as the reader I was drawn in by your descriptions of the show and I wanted to read more. I also think the inclusion of the picture works very well.
However, to make the piece even stronger I think you should try to put the 'where' and 'when' of the show together and near the beginning, so that anyone who doesn't have time to stop and read it all can find out the information quickly.
i.e 'This Spring if you wish to see theatre truly come alive then see Chicken Shed's original story of 'The Attraction' showing from Wednesday 18th March to Saturday 4th April daily, Chicken Shed theatre, London, Southgate.
Based in the heart of a booming gypsy community this story will.....'
Then in the next sentence, rather than writing where the show is held just begin with 'This is the second time......'
This will also help shorten a couple of your sentences making them more punchy and easy to read.
The rest of the information like what time the show is on what day can remain at the bottom.
It is also important that you have accurate spelling and grammar so just check through your writing, capital letters for 'Chicken Shed' and 'The Attraction' are particularly important and just make sure you always put the little quotation marks around the title of the show.
Hope this helps, good luck and have a great New Year!
Thanks,
Laura
Yes this helped thank you Laura! see draft 3 for improvements!
